  • About

Trefethen is the only surviving example of what was once the most common winery architecture in Napa --- a three-story wooden gravity-flow winery. Designed and built in 1886 by a Scottish sea captain Hamden McIntyre, the winery was originally known as Eshcol. The winery was heralded in the local papers of the time as a ''model farm''. Today, there is state of the art winemaking in the newer Fermentation Building and Barrel Cellar, but the historic winery still plays an integral role. Complementary Tasting of Estate Wines daily. Hours: Open daily from 10:00 to 4:30. Tours: By appointment. Tours of our historic winery are approx. 30 minutes. Trefethen is located at the southern end of the Napa Valley and is the first winery you see after leav
